Spare parts for ERI PX pressure exchangers
We supply complete units and spare parts for Energy Recovery (ERI) PX pressure exchangers — the current Q series and the 65 series that is still installed in many plants. We quote from the model and serial number on the nameplate.

What we supply
- Complete Q-series PX units: PX-Q300, PX-Q400, PX-Q650 and the rest of the series.
- 65-series units and spares: PX-180, PX-220 and PX-260.
- Ceramic cartridges (rotor, sleeve and end covers) and seal kits matched to the serial number.
- High- and low-pressure connections: nipples, couplings and seals for PX piping.
- Circulation (booster) pumps used with the energy recovery system.
How it works, and why that matters for spares
The PX has one moving part: a ceramic rotor turning inside a sleeve between two end covers. It has no motor; the flow itself turns the rotor. The rotor transfers pressure from the brine directly to the incoming seawater, so the condition of the ceramic cartridge sets how much brine mixes into the water going to the membranes.
PX Q series reference data
| Parameter | Value published by Energy Recovery |
|---|---|
| Concentrate flow (whole series) | 4.5 – 147.6 m³/h (20 – 650 gpm) |
| Maximum pressure | 83 bar (1,200 psi) |
| Stated peak efficiency | 99% |
| Stated volumetric mixing | as low as 2% |
| Stated design life | 30 years |

What fails and which part it needs
| Symptom | Usual cause | What we quote |
|---|---|---|
| Membrane feed salinity rises | More mixing from cartridge wear, or high- and low-pressure flows out of balance | Check flow balance first. If it persists: cartridge or unit |
| Rotor stalls or runs noisily | Particles in the low-pressure feed, or flow outside the model's range | Cartridge, plus a check of upstream filtration before fitting it |
| Lubrication flow (internal leakage) increases | Worn cartridge clearances | Cartridge |
| Leaks at connections | Damaged seals, couplings or nipples | Seal kit, couplings or nipples |
Fitting a new cartridge without fixing the cause of a stalled rotor usually ends in a second cartridge. When the symptoms point to particles, we say so in the quotation.
What we need to quote
- Exact model from the nameplate (for example PX-Q300 or PX-220).
- Serial number of each unit.
- For spares: ERI part number or description; a photo of the nameplate and the part helps.
- For new units or a model change: operating flow and pressure. We check them against the manufacturer's data sheet.
- Quantity and delivery country.
Lead times
Lead time depends on whether the part is in stock at a distributor or has to come from the factory. Kits and connections are usually in stock; complete units are normally allocated or built to order. Every quotation states the lead time confirmed with the source at the time of quoting.
Documents
- Commercial invoice and packing list.
- Distributor invoice or confirmation identifying where the part was bought.
- Manufacturer's certificate of origin where the manufacturer issues one.
- Photos of the parts and their labels before dispatch.
- Air waybill (AWB) or bill of lading (B/L).
Have the equipment nameplate to hand?
Send a photo or the part number. We check the model and reply within 4 business hours.

Frequently asked questions
Can I buy a single PX unit?
Yes. We quote from one unit up to the full set for a new train.
Are 65-series spares still available?
Yes, we continue to quote spares for PX-180, PX-220 and PX-260. If a part has been discontinued, the quotation says so and gives the manufacturer's alternative.
Can a PX be replaced with a model from another series?
We check flow, pressure and connections against the data sheet. Process design remains the responsibility of your engineers or the manufacturer.
Are the parts genuine?
Yes, genuine Energy Recovery parts bought through the manufacturer's channels.
