Models we supply

ModelUsed for
SW30HRLE-440 / -400High rejection with low energy, for medium- and high-salinity seawater. 28-mil feed spacer.
SW30XHR-440Very high salt and boron rejection, where permeate quality is the constraint.
SW30XLE-440 / -400Low energy consumption.
SEAMAXX-440Very high permeability, for plants where energy is the largest cost.

An i at the end of the model (for example SW30HRLE-440i) means iLEC interlocking end caps. If your plant uses iLEC elements, replacements must match.

What fails and what gets replaced

SymptomUsual causeWhat to do
Differential pressure rises in lead elementsBiological or colloidal foulingClean first; replace if the element does not recover
Normalised flow drops in tail elementsScalingAcid clean; replace if it does not recover
Salt passage rises across the train and cleaning does not helpMembrane oxidation by chlorine or other oxidantsReplace elements and correct dechlorination
High conductivity from one vessel onlyLeaking interconnector or O-ringInterconnectors and O-rings; probing the vessel locates the leak
Elements deformed or displaced (telescoping)Excessive pressure dropNew elements, and a check of the vessel's spacers and bearing plate

Partial or full replacement

Placing new elements next to used ones in the same vessel changes the flow distribution. For partial replacement we ask for the installed model and the positions being replaced. If the installed model has been discontinued, we say so and give the manufacturer's replacement; it is worth confirming with a projection in DuPont's WAVE software.

Storage and transport

Some models ship wet, in preservative solution, and others dry. Tell us which your plant uses. In transit and storage, membranes must be protected from freezing and direct sunlight.

What we need to quote

  1. Installed model, as printed on the element label.
  2. Quantity and, for partial replacement, the position of each element.
  3. For a model change: feed water analysis and operating data.
  4. Interconnectors, O-rings or brine seals, listed separately.
  5. Delivery country and address.

Have the equipment nameplate to hand?

Send a photo or the part number. We check the model and reply within 4 business hours.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell single elements?

Yes. We quote from one element to a full train replacement.

Do you supply interconnectors, O-rings and brine seals?

Yes, separately or with the elements.

Can I switch from SW30HRLE to SEAMAXX to save energy?

It is possible, but it changes operating pressure and permeate quality. Validate it with a manufacturer projection before buying.

Are the membranes genuine?

Yes, genuine DuPont FilmTec, bought through its distribution channels.
